Indications

The drug is indicated in the stationary and regressive stages of the disease and acute condition. It is recommended to use Citopsor as an effective adjuvant in the complex treatment of dermatoses (psoriasis, eczema, pityriasis versicolor).

Application

The drug is applied topically applying a small amount in a thin even layer to the affected skin every day once or twice a day, lubricating the affected area with light movements (on hairy areas in the direction of hair growth, slightly moving them apart), leaving the area open for absorption.

After 15-20 minutes (up to 2 hours, depending on tolerance and degree of damage), remove with dry or wet alcohol-free wipes, if necessary, rinse with warm water with neutral baby soap and dry with a dry cotton cloth. Avoid scratching and intense friction. Tightly sitting crusts should not be forcibly removed — they flatten and disappear with a time. After 2 weeks it is recommended to take a break for 1 to 2 days.

In areas with sensitive skin (armpits, inguinal area, etc.), it is recommended to first salve the plaques with fat no-additives baby cream, and then apply a thin layer of the preparation.

During the first days of use irritation and itchiness are possible, but is important to avoid scratching. At first, the plaques peel off and turn red. Gradually, the itchiness subsides (if was any) the plaques flatten, and the redness disappears after 2 to 5 weeks on the average. If itchiness does not weaken, individual sensitivity to the components of the drug is possible, reduce the frequency of salving and the amount of the drug applied.

With a moderate amount of rash one pack of Citopsor balsam (200 ml) is enough for a course that lasts, on the average for 4 to 6 weeks (depending on the stage and form of the disease). With a significant number of lesions and good tolerability of the preparation you can use more.

In the acute course of the disease, lesions of more than 50–60% of the skin, it is recommended to salve the affected areas in parts. For example, apply the drug to a third of the affected areas until they disappear, and then proceed to salve a next area.

The duration of the course is individual. It is recommended to continue application until the spots on the affected areas become pale and do not peel off after bathing. The remaining hyperpigmented or depigmented spots are subsequently acquire the skin tone. In order to consolidate the result and to prevent recurrence it is necessary to continue the application within 1-2 weeks.

It is recommended to have a shower not earlier than 6 to 8 hours after application, once every 2-3 days (but application is carried out daily). If necessary, you can bath every day, but it is better to take a warm shower than a bath. Rub the skin with a sponge gently. For bathing it is better to use baby soap, you can use your regular shampoo.

During the period of Citopsor application you should keep to a diet eliminating eggs, whole milk, honey, red fruits and berries, citrus fruits, tomatoes and bell peppers, onions and garlic; chocolate and other cocoa products, limit fatty foods (lard, meat and meat-sausages); spicy, smoked, sour dishes, pickles and marinades, mayonnaise, mustard, horseradish, rich pastries (cakes, pastries, pastille and marshmallow), sodas, as well as coffee.
